FAQs

The Object Monitoring mode uses the Zigbee protocol. Since the two modes use different detection methods, they are mutually exclusive and cannot be used simultaneously. Please select the appropriate detection mode based on your actual use scenario.
Yes the device can be used in this way, although due to the washing machine/dryer vibrating throughout its entire wash cycle, this may deplete the battery.
The device uses a geomagnetic sensor to detect angles. Electrical current and magnetic fields will affect detection accuracy. Therefore, during installation, avoid motors and strong magnetic field areas to prevent interference with the device's normal operation.
Under normal usage scenarios with installation on daily fixed stationary item surfaces and non-high frequency triggering, the theoretical battery life is 2-3 years in Zigbee protocol mode, and 1-1.5 years in Thread protocol mode (when joined to a single platform only). Actual device battery life is affected by multiple factors including usage frequency, installation environment interference, number of platforms joined, network signal strength, battery performance, ambient temperature and humidity, etc. Final results are based on actual usage.
The device supports both the Thread and Zigbee protocols, and can be added to the Aqara Home ecosystem or third-party ecosystems that support Matter protocol. When added directly to third-party ecosystems via Matter, the device will function as a Door and Window Sensor, enabling open/close detection.

1. Connecting to the Aqara Home ecosystem: Open the Aqara Home app, enter the homepage and press "+" in the upper right corner, then follow the on-screen prompts to complete device addition;

2. Connecting to a third-party Matter ecosystem: Launch the "Add Device" function in the corresponding third-party app, scan the Matter QR code on the device to complete the addition.

Enter the Aqara Home app homepage, press "+" in the upper right corner, select the corresponding device model, press to switch to Zigbee protocol, download the corresponding firmware and select a compatible Hub, then follow the prompts to complete the addition.
The operating temperature range is -10°C~55°C, and the operating humidity range is 0~95% RH (non-condensing). Please note that excessively low ambient temperature may cause battery performance degradation, which will shorten device battery life.
After adding the device to the Aqara Home app, you can directly update the firmware to the latest version on the device settings page. If the third-party platform does not yet support updating to the latest firmware, you can first add the device to the Aqara Home app and complete the latest firmware synchronization by switching the protocol once (firmware is transmitted directly via your phone's Bluetooth, without requiring an Aqara Hub).
This device is not waterproof. Please avoid high humidity environments and water exposure to prevent device damage.
